Plastic decking clips are small but essential component used in modern decking systems. Used to secure composite decking boards neatly and efficiently. Designed to create a uniform 5mm gap between each board, these clips ensure consistent spacing that promotes proper drainage, ventilation and expansion.
The key factors in maintaining the longevity and stability of outdoor decking structures. Made from durable reinforced polymer materials they are resistant to corrosion, rot and moisture, making them particularly suitable for composite or timber installations exposed to the elements.
The primary advantage of 5mm plastic clips is their ability to deliver a clean, professional finish. Unlike traditional screws or nails, which are visible and can damage the board surface over time. These hidden fasteners sit discreetly between boards, preserving the decks smooth aesthetic.
Installation is straight forward; clips are positioned along the joist and the deck boards are fitted over them, with the clips locking into the grooves of adjacent boards. This system not only speeds up installation but also allows for easy board removal and replacement if needed.
Each pack of our plastic clips contains 100 clips and 100 black square head screws. Every plastic clip order also comes with at least one square head drill bit included.
Joists are usually spaced 400mm (0.4m) apart (centre to centre)

3.6 / 0.4 = 9 gaps between joists – 10 joists total

4.8 / 0.4 = 12 gaps between joists – 13 joists total
Each joist intersection between two boards typically uses one clip per board edge, so if you’re installing multiple boards side by side, each shared joists line will have one clip between them.

Delivery Info:
We aim to dispatch all orders within 48hrs. If you are in a major rush we will do our best to get your order out sooner. Sometimes we are able to deliver same day.
Our drivers work 7 days a week so evenings and weekend slots are available.
We use our own drivers and vehicles for most of our deliveries to ensure we keep control over time scales and damages.
Our standard vehicles are LWB sprinter sized vans, if there are any access issues please advise when ordering.
Our drivers will unload your order by hand, usually they will stack it on a driveway or garden. If there is a long distance between where they are able to park and where the boards need to be stacked please advise when ordering.
For small parts we may use national delivery services depending on size and qty, if we do dispatch yours goods with a 3rd party you will be notified once the package has been delivered to their depot.
