5mm Plastic Decking Clips
These clips create a consistent 5mm gap between each decking board. Supplied in bags of 100. They are compatible with our waterproof stainless steel black zinc coated screws. The screws are designed for enhanced grip and alignment. to slide through the fastener, using both compression and thread friction to secure the clip and board firmly in place. Our plastic clips come with 100 screws for every 100 clips supplied.

Sold in bags of 100, these clips achieve a 3mm spacing, the smallest gap possible. Resulting in a neat professional finish. The effectively conceal the joist while still allowing proper drainage. These clips can also be installed using our black stainless streel screws. Our Metal Clips come with 100 screws for every 100 clips supplied.

Why should i use hidden fasteners instead of surface screws?
Hidden fasteners provide a screw free deck surface, reduce the risk of splintering and help maintain proper spacing between boards. They also allow for expansion and contraction which will extend the lifespan of you composite deck.
Are all decking clips the same?
No, subtle differences effect the quality and suitability of decking clips, only ever buy decking clips from the same supplier as your decking boards. Clip height is crucial and also many company’s will not honour warranty if the incorrect clips have been used.
Whats the difference between starter clips and regular decking clips?
Starter clips are used to secure the first and last deck boards. For ungrooved boards you may need starter clips, side fasteners or biscuit joiners depending on the decking brand
Are decking clips reusable?
Most clips are not designed for reuse once installed. However some systems allow for limited reuse during repairs or board replacements.
Do i need to use clips for my composite decking?
Yes, Composite decking clips are designed specifically to secure composite deck boards and set a standard gap usually 5mm to allow for expansion and contraction.
Can I screw directly through composite decking
Yes, but this is not advised and will most likely void any warranty, decking clips are designed so that the finish of composite decking is neat
Can I use adhesive to fit composite decking boards
No, even the strongest adhesive will fail after a short time due to the surprising movement composite experiences as it expands and contracts in different temperatures.
What spacing do clips provide?
Most plastic clips provide a uniform gap of 5/6mm between boards, whereas metal clips provide a uniform gap of 3mm. This ensures proper drainage, airflow and expansion space. Also preventing warping, buckling and moisture buildup.
