In this article we look at the reasons why you may choose composite balustrade over timber. Timber has been used for many years for decking and balustrades. Within recent years Composite has become an increasingly popular choice. There are many reason for this. Take a look below at the main factors you can consider why choosing composite is a great option.

Low Maintenance

Timber balustrade and decking maybe cost effective in the first instance but they take time and money to keep maintained. This is where composite balustrade comes in as a great material to use. Composite has a high durability so it will with stand the harsh winters but with a wipe down will look clean a fresh again ready for the summer months.

Strength and Support

Timber will need treating year after year to make sure it doesn’t rot or warp. Even with regular treatments wood can still warp, split and crack. If rotting or warping happens the wood will loose it strength and potentially become hazardous especially if on a raised deck area.

Our balustrade systems is made up of a composite post and rail sleeve which fit over a metal supporting leg. This gives you the strength and support from the metal but the viability of high quality composite. Composite has high longevity but also capped composite is waterproof as the extra plastic shell locks out the moisture.
