Balustrade Kits will be delivered by our own long wheelbase sprinter size vans or by similar sized private courier vehicles. The kits will arrive in component form and are not pre assembled. The components will be boxed, palletised or loose depending on the quantity and courier used. The maximum length of the longest component is 2.4m. The driver will usually be happy to unload and walk a short distance to stack the components in a suitable location but be mindful that the delivery service is stated as kerbside delivery. If there are any access issues or unusual unloading conditions please make us aware when ordering.
Balustrade Kits are supplied in component form and are not pre assembled. Suitable tools and experience will be required for installation. Keen DIY enthusiasts will be fine however we do not recommend the uninitiated to attempt assembly! An experienced landscaper, joiner or builder will be able to help. To install you will need to: 1 – Measure and meticulously mark out your area. Fix the 50mm metal inserts to a solid surface with suitable fixings (not supplied) so that they are safe and secure. 2 – Cut the 2.4m 100mm x 100mm post in half to make your 1.2m null post (a standard timber blade will be suitable but will wear quickly). 3 – Slide the null post over the 50mm metal insert. The base plate cover slides over the post to dress the bottom and hide the base of the metal insert and the post cap can be located and secured using a silicone based sealant or similar flexible adhesive. 4 – Mark out the underside of the handrail and the top side of the baserail with the locations for the spindles (we recommend marking out the thinner side of the base rail so when fully assembled it will be structurally stronger than when fitted wider side facing the ground). 5 – Once marked up pilot hole the baserail and handrail screw locations for the plastic lugs which locate the spindles. 6 – Fix all the plastic lugs with the screws provided. 7- Assemble the handrail, baserail and spindles by sandwiching the spindles between the two. 8 – Place the handrail and baserail brackets onto the rails and present the assembly to the null posts and mark the fixing locations for the brackets. 9 – Pilot hole the screw locations for the brackets. 10 – Screw the brackets to the null post with the screws provided.
